Which 3M Welding Helmet do I need?

Based on extensive input from welders working at high amperages that need to grind frequently, the 3M Speedglas Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 range was created to be adaptable to an individual’s needs and situation.

All of the G5-01 helmets provide protection against radiation, sparks and spatter, from a high-coverage welding helmet design that also offers expanded coverage options. For extended protection there are a variety of highly configurable options to cover front, back of neck and shoulders which can be ordered as accessories .

The helmet is our entry level offering, providing all the protection you would expect from a high quality, durable 3M welding helmet. The helmet has a flip-up front that gives a large, 170 x 104 mm clear view that’s excellent for precision grinding in low-light conditions. Welding filters are not included and can be purchased separately .

The helmet (9100-QR) offers a flexible solution, welding protection is easily detachable from a safety helmet providing eye, face and head protection. The welding visor uses a quick release rail allowing it to be easily detached for non-weld jobs while your safety helmet stays in place. Included is the auto-darkening filter 9100V and the 3M Safety Helmet H-701. Exhaled air is channelled out via the helmets side vents which may reduce the likelihood of fogging and shorter safety helmet brim for better upwards visibility.

The heavy-duty option available is the with built in helmet and (610020) filter included. The filter provides variable dark shade 5, 8-13 and tack welding comfort more. The helmet is designed to be combined with the  or  for a complete respirator system. The includes all the same features; large flip-front visor, Speedglas natural colour technology, helmet duct system for greater comfort, additional accessories to configure for your individual needs, slim profile and ergonomic design for a more lightweight feel and Bluetooth enabled for use with the 3M Connected Equipment app.
